Design Elements began in 1996 as a Home Decorating Shop. As the building and renovating market grew in the Georgian Bay area the company moved full time into a whirlwind of projects: Re-designing outdated ski chalets, furnishing condos, and working on new construction projects from the blueprint stage to furnishings, draperies, accessories and all steps in between.

The majority of our projects are from referrals and repeat clients. We pride ourselves in customer service.

What inspired you to go into interior design?

I have loved homes and interiors since I was a child. I use to paint my parents front door when they were out for the day! I moved furniture in my room constantly or talked my siblings into changing rooms with me so I could start all over again in a different space.  I first took a home study course when I was a teenager.  Mailing in the lessons each week. Then much later as an adult attended design college.

What projects are you most proud of and why?

The projects I am most proud of are the renovations. I love renovating, and the unique challenges each project brings.

Are there any styles that you’ve always wanted to do, but have never got the opportunity to do it?

I have worked in all styles with many different clients.

Do you have a favourite style?

My favourite “style” is the rustic chic. I love barn board and aged wood with pristine white walls.

Where do you get inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from clients and melding the knowledge and experience of past projects.
